— their love story doesn’t end in tragedy, death or heartbreak like many LGBTQ+ relationships do. they get their happy ending like most straight couples on television do and i think that’s pretty fucking beautiful
— they got to kiss on screen over 30 times and their intimacy was treated no differently to how straight couples intimate scenes are and that’s important
— the way david supported patrick throughout his coming out storyline and how he put patrick’s own needs and feelings before his own
— i think the way patrick treated david through the incident showed how much respect there is between the two of them and how they both treat each other with dignity and love despite their flaws and quirks
— the fact that david can be himself around patrick without the fear of being judged or laughed at is really special to me
— the fact that david rose is clearly an extremely insecure person and somewhat finds expressing his feelings hard and YET he let patrick see his true self and did this to prove he was serious about him
— the subtle way patrick listened to david’s loves and interests just feels so sincere and soft to me
but the main reason for me is that @danjlevy literally did everything the same way a tv show would do if it was a straight couple. he showed their love, their milestones, their struggles & everything in between without highlighting the fact they were a queer couple 24/7
