If a team has players set for LTIR for full year, once setting their LTIR pool, only impact of acquiring more LTIR players is the cash payment. No real Cap Impact because the LTIR pool increases by the Cap Hit.
Could we see a team "buy" an asset?

Hossa ($5.275M) & Zetterberg ($6.083M) have big cap hits but only $1M Salaries.
A team using LTIR for whole year (like #Blues, #Lightning, #Oilers, #ALLCAPS, etc) could acquire & only real impact is $1M Salary.
Would #Yotes or #DRW give an asset to save $1M?

Most of these LTIR teams will make moves to be right under the cap on opening roster in order to set their LTIR pool, meaning they'd wait to do a trade like this on day 2 of season.
The exception? TB. Already in LTIR now so could do deal now.
