I have an honours degree in journalism.

The piece was riddled with errors - both factual and textual.

Not only that, it deeply insinuated misconduct - and questioned the honesty of someone widowed less than 24 hours previous.

Doubling down on this was not the smart choice. https://twitter.com/torchmcmahon/status/1343656080782614529
The piece was apparently an “opinion piece” or “column” and was “simply asking questions” the replies state.

So, where’s the journalism? A journalist would ask the questions privately and report on the answers.

A poorly written column should not ask those questions regardless.
I stayed silent on the piece last night as I didn’t want to get involved and wanted to leave myself time to comprehend how I felt.

It seemed like someone either trying to evoke anger or provide “gotcha” journalism in a piece with zero evidence.

I’m still furious 24 hours on.
The piece had Brodie’s number of children wrong, spelled his first name AND surname wrong, spelled “illness” wrong, compared the situation to that of Chris Benoit, and that’s before we mention the implication ma of misconduct.

Not one day after a man lost his life aged 41.
Sorry, folks, I tried to stay silent on this one, but I can’t.

PW Torch was incredibly irresponsible in allowing this piece to be on their site, and it’s scandalous it stayed up - but I expect nothing less from a site that re-hired a man outed as a fraud one month previous.
I have a huge amount of respect for Wade Keller and his body of work - previous to me writing about wrestling - but I’m in disbelief any website would publish such an article, and that their writers would publicly back it.
Oh, and while I’m still fizzing, let me just say, Bruce Mitchell’s response today “12 hours later” was absolutely abhorrent and, at best, troll-like.
They’ve taken the piece down at least, which is the bare minimum that should be done.

I feel an apology was necessary here, but I guess you shouldn’t apologise unless you mean it. https://twitter.com/pwtorch/status/1343719901312274433
