Is there any actual research that shows that restating the learning objectives at the end of the lesson ("you've learned how to identify a cat") actually helps retention?

Every instructional design source says u should do it but as a student i found that INCREDIBLY annoying
Like it's one thing to just quickly recap of what was covered in 40 mins lesson but i see this:
- at the end of 5 mins instructional videos
- specifically formulated as "you learned how/you will now be able to"
Like there's in my opinion a huge difference between "today we've covered how to take derivatives of products and quotients" and "in this video you learned how turn on your microwave", ya feel me?
Like it's both
- the length: sure i have the attention span of a fruit fly but even i don't need to be reminded of something i was told 90 secs ago
- and the presumption: "you've learned" oh did I really? How do you know? Maybe you're a shitty teacher?
