•Jerry Jeudy vs Drops

“The issue is all Drew Lock”
“His QB sucks”

The excuses go on.

Per Player Profile, Jerry Jeudy has a 45.1% catch rate (noted, likely ~43% after this last week). That’s horrible.

How much of it is on Drew Lock?
Jeudy is #104 in “Catchable Target Rate”, meaning % of total targets that were catchable.

He has a 61.5% Catchable Target Rate (56 tgts out of 91)
This changes his Catch Rate of ~43% to an improved True Catch Rate of....

73.2%, still #99 in the NFL

Yikes.
So he’s only catching 73.2% of his catchable targets..
“But Jerry Jeudy is an elite route runner!”

I don’t give one crap about route running if your hands are made of bricks.

Jerry Jeudy: 10 drops on the year

5 of those occurred in yesterday’s game.
“He’s 7th in AirYards (91.9p/g) and 7th in deep targets (22) with 7 red zone targets though!”

Lock puts this on the money, yet Jeudy can’t come down with the touchdown. This is the 2nd end zone drop I’ve seen like this from Jeudy.

Not great.
“Stop it. He’s elite. He gets a pass.”

Well how does he compare to some notable WRs who are being crucified due to drops?

True Catch Rate:
Jeudy 73.2%
Diontae Johnson 81.9%
Nelson Agholor 2019: 78%
Amari Cooper 2019: 79.8% https://twitter.com/connorten/status/1343645978906271746
This is not all on Drew Lock.

We do indeed have a Jerry Jeudy problem.
He can work on this. Just need to work with someone extensively this offseason. Two notable changes:
•Fix Hand Positioning
•Eliminate unnecessary hop prior to ball arrival, focus on hands & catch in stride.
