I'm honestly very happy to see so many young women criticizing "sex positivity". I remember a few years back any critique would get you written off as a SWERF no matter how valid your points are.
SP (sex positivity) has little to do with self love and sexual autonomy and more to do with commodifying sex and uphold the notion that the female body is a sex object for male comsumption. Hence why men are never pushed to be more SP to please women lol.
Aside from the privileged few women in the western world (mostly white women at that) who sell sexual services on their terms, sex work is more akin to sexual slavery. Women (and little girls) are routinely bought, sold, trafficked, raped, and killed in the global sex trade.
For most women, the idea of selling sex isn't liberating. This view is very privileged and it definitely doesn't apply to poor women of color, especially from the global south.
SP benefits men, and only men tbh. It upholds the idea that sex is something to be taken *from* women, something that is done *to* women, and given to men.
I'm cool with women who sell sex on their own terms, but then again, they're absolutely coming from a place of privilege because women/ girls around the world and the US (we have a huge # of sex trafficking victims) are not afforded that choice and autonomy.
