Since most of you like "New Year, New Me" kind of thing, I'll do one for Armenians. Don't expect memes or jokes, it's genuine steps for development. All of us developing individually produces a large long term result. Here we go:
1) Get rid of the victim mentality. Yes, we went through the Genocide, the 4 day April War, the War of the last 3 months. We always RISE back up. These are setbacks. When you introduce Armenia and Armenians to others, remember this.
2) Try to learn the language as much as possible. Take it step by step. Learn letter by letter. Read and watch about our 3,000 year history. There's a whole new past about our people. If you need resources, I can link you to anything you like. Just DM me.
3) Connect with Armenians around the world. From wherever they may be on Earth, every Armenian is a gem. Talk to them, get to know each other and your roots. Social media can be used for these things. I met over 400 new Armos during the War, best decision ever.
4) Along with the 3rd point, don't discriminate each other. Western, Hayastanci, half-Armenian, political views, different sexual orientation shouldn't divide us. If you don't want to connect with them, don't. But don't abuse and show hate. It's disgusting, get over immaturity.
5) If it's legal in your country, go and practice at the gun range. If not, practice airsoft for on-field war skills. If not, at least exercise to be physically fit. That's partly how soldiers are made - male or female. + learn survival and first aid skills.
6) Invest in your profession/career/desired skills. This is how you become an essential individual. You don't just succeed at what you want to do, but also succeed by helping your homeland and your people. Repatriation or direct support from abroad becomes a great option.
7) Become an active member of an Armenian community or organisation near you. This goes along the language point above. This way you Armenian history and culture. If you're far away or don't have one near you, at least try to connect with other Armenians online.
If I missed a point, feel free to suggest any. If you feel that some can be modified, again feel free to share. These are not specific steps (that's later hopefully). Let's start getting better, let's start improving, let's become more connected to our homeland and our people
