1. Mudzimiri Village Scored Card. Let me thread you on this happy holiday. Friends here we go @gospelmatondi my village is in ward 4 of Zvimba district. A strong economy base with platinum, gold, and urban services of reasonable quality.
2. Ward 4 is in region is 2b, sandy soils, savannah vegetation that has largely regenerated due to shrinkage of crop cultivation. Musengezi river is the only perennial water source, though stretched due to climate change. Several tributaries significant for summer water recovery
3. Based on madhala dare ranhasi for Mudzimiri village is one of the 5 villages. The population dynamics as stated by elders and a few young people goes like this. I will come to livestock in a bit. Our network is a serious problem needing attention. Anyway ....
4. Mudzimiri village is our sabhuku (village assembly) is constituted as follows: Tsikai, Mudzimiri, Samkange,
Kapfidze, Tsenzere form part of Vidco 20.
5. Mudzimiri village has 36 households mostly headed by the elderly with same averages for men, women and widows. There are about 10 households with cattle (approx 8 per household). The richest person has over 60 but most are averaged within the 10.
6. Goats of Mudzimiri village 8 families have average of 5 goats, 7 families have 4 donkeys (average), zero sheep, about 20 families have 8 huku (indigenous), only 2 families does broilers.
7. Resident population of Mudzimiri village is 5 per family, this means there is a large growth of young people supported by the elderly with limited to very compromised resources.
8. Where do people of Mudzimiri Village get there food in the last three years? Government Food Aid. Some NGO gave oil, rice, beans, and maize me for 3 times in a year. But they can remember much.
9. @gospelmatondi you can now ponder the rest 😂. What people claim to do or not do? Human poverty has been pervasive for decades in our village. Nothing has changed. They are lucky because they don’t feel the presence of NGOs much. Gvt has been fully in their life ...
10. I love strong local institutions, strong family economies. We badly lack these and the result is unhelpful help that keeps our villagers stuck in poverty. We must change this narrative but being different and encouraging localization of actions.
11. The big figs be it in crops, livestock &long term vision will escape our people. The moment we build local family economies, we sorted. What with the platinum being in the belly of our beast🤷🏿‍♂️. We need to do more& better to end poverty within our time. I rest our scorecard.
12. My network was poor. Village ICT is not yet where it must be.
13. As a caveat, 90% of my fellow villagers self-feed ad purchase from each other and retail stores. Transport is a challenge, making difficulties in food and produce movement. @gospelmatondi @ndakaripa @MushunjeMildred @babatafi @DairayiDavis
