Is it possible for the team to eventually figure it out and play a higher level of offense? Yes. But it isnt an absolute, and there might be a lot of ugly games and losses while trying to make it work.
He could "dumb down" and simplify the offense to fit the personnel...

That may lead to more wins and production right now, but it also comes at the risk of never getting the reps of a more complex offense, and allows teams to scout and figure out how to defend the sets a lot easier in the future.

A team without consistent shooting, coupled with very basic and obvious sets, will eventually be exposed by most above average defenses.
