we've documented a great many cases of gov't and media censorship on covid this year

well, it's now written right into the youtube terms of service:

thou shalt not doubt the claims of the WHO or local officials that mitigation methods are not effective

"the silence is settled"
i've asked it 100 times, but it appears we must ask yet again:

when was the last time you saw the side demanding censorship be the one with the facts on their side?

science IS skepticism.

policy must be rooted in cost/benefit.

this is derangement.
this is doubly so in light of the fact that just last year, the WHO was against lockdowns. https://twitter.com/boriquagato/status/1280990976694083585?s=20
they were also against community masking.

but suddenly they change all their views and now we are not allowed to question them or disagree or youtube will take you down?

on what planet does that even make sense? https://twitter.com/boriquagato/status/1310595825865756673?s=20
this endless inversion of logic and reason to claim that censorship is science and silence a social good is used to fashion a dishonest raiment of virtue signaling and authority.

such is always seductive to those in power be they government or titans of business.

either is bad.
but when the two decide to team up, well that inevitably spells hard times for we the people.

of all the censorship in covid, google has been the most insidious. they have shaped and curated search results to generate false facts and consensus. https://twitter.com/boriquagato/status/1321944475514621955
you expect to see this on twitter and FB, but few realize it's at least as prevalent in search because it's far harder to see there. but it is RIFE. they tried to hide the existence of the great barrington declaration. https://twitter.com/boriquagato/status/1314898875153559552?s=20
until they got called out by @tedcruz and @chiproytx who picked this issue up and ran with it.

(perhaps certain internet felines played an instigating role)

suddenly, "oh, there it is!" https://twitter.com/boriquagato/status/1315046517858856960?s=20
google has long done this in other spheres, especially around climate change

they are actively curating what you see so it aligns with their politics and hiding arguments to the contrary.

and, like cockroaches, for every time you see it, how many more are behind the fridge?
they are a private company. they have this right. it's between them and their shareholders.

but, those having it done to them have a right to know as well. so i just like to be sure this information is out there.
you're not getting honest indexing and ranking. you're getting slant, and quite a lot in many cases.

this is done paternalistically as though google is the arbiter of what is and is not "science" but their science is really just politics.

they have no special skill here.
of course, some of them say this and mean "it's wonderful! i love working at a company that suppresses wrongthink and silences views i do not like." most of those who feel otherwise wash out before long or simply go silent at work.

many people like cults.
i find this distasteful and crappy, but i support the right of people and companies to determine their own free association on whatever terms they deem desirable.

but i'd never work there and nor would many i know.
this not only deprives google of potential talent, but it intensifies the echo chamber in which they live and these sorts of echo chambers lead to the intensification of ideas and doctrine until other views seem unimaginable.

especially once you censor them directly.
pretty soon, you are functionally a cult.

there is a reason the employees call it "the mothership".

this is why i largely stopped using google.

perhaps you'll feel differently. that's up to you.

just make an informed choice.
censorship is the bulwark of superstition, not science.

there are no sacred cows in scientific inquiry. the minute you declare one, you're not doing science anymore.

it's a perfect shibboleth.

science is never settled, especially by silence.
oh, and for those looking to peruse the youtube terms of service for yourselves, you can find them here.

it's got some real gems.
