LONG RANT FORTHCOMING. Week 2 of vacation. Being a little reflective this morning.

1. I was really sick the second and third weeks of February, right when I moved into a new position at work so I had to go to the office, couldn't miss training. It wasn't until mid-March that
... cold (maybe COVID, who knows because of when it happened) was finally gone.
2. Went home to work March 18, haven't been in the office since.
3. I didn't leave the house for a few months, now normally only go out a couple of times a week.
4. I observed what this pandemic and the election did to people. I was saddened by the lack of empathy and kindness, was angered by how mean spirited some people became.
5. I am disheartened the behavior has sometimes come from people I have been friends with for years or ...
classmates from my high school, people I respected based on the fact we were brought up in that Slope environment.
6. One aunt on my Mom's side and one uncle on my Dad's side passed away. I'm grateful not COVID related but not having the typical big Mexican funeral ceremony was..
sad.
7. I know other people who lost family and friends this year. Heck, I have a set of friends who lost their Mom AND Dad this month. That's beyond terrible.

2020 has sucked. I'll be glad when it's over. However, I'm still grateful for a lot and today that includes the fact ..
I banked a lot of PTO this year due to canceling two vacations, which means I got to take the last two weeks of the year off. Plus, the social distancing, the isolation and the self quarantine means I haven't been sick since March. For a guy who spent many hours at the ...
emergency and many days at home sick as a child due to bad allergies and asthma, not catching every cold out there is a blessing.

If you won't wear your fucking mask to protect others and instead choose to whine about how inconvenient it is for you because it violates your ...
rights, at least be decent enough to not belittle those who do and not endanger them with your behavior. I can respect your decision even if disagree so have at it. We are all humans and have that choice. That doesn't mean you need to be a peckerhead.
I hope all of you are staying safe, being healthy and finding some happiness. I know I'm not perfect but I also know I've really tried hard this year to not be an asshole in these difficult times. There are enough of them out there.

Love,
