Antonee Robinson has become one of the USMNT’s most polarizing youngsters. Many in the community rate him highly. However, I’m always a little skeptical of USMNT prospects since I feel the community over rates them a bit. So, I crunched some numbers, and heres what I found:
I compared Antonee’s stats with players of the same position who have played at least 60% of their respective teams total EPL minutes. Players in that criteria are: Robertson, Shaw, Reguilón, Targett, Chilwell, Bertrand, Masuaku, Jamaal Lewis, van Aanholt, and Charlie Taylor.
The first thing I did was total each players total tackles, interceptions, blocks, and clearances to get their defensive production measured. I then divided that number by their total minutes played and then multiplied it by 90 to get a Defensive Production Score (DPS).
The top 5 left backs with the highest DPS in the EPL are:
1) Robinson - 5.8
2) Reguilón - 4.6
T3) Taylor - 4.5
T3) Targett - 4.5
5) Chilwell - 4.2

I was pleasantly surprised to find that Antonee had the best defensive output among all these LBs.
I did the same thing but with offensive stats in order to get an Offensive Production Score (OPS). I totaled goals, assists, key passes, chances created, completed crosses and completed dribbles (I weighted goals and assist by multiplying them by 10 and 5 respectively)
The top 5 left backs with the highest OPS in the EPL are:
1) Robertson - 72.1
2) Chilwell - 62
3) Shaw - 49.2
4) van Aanholt- 47.2
5) Masuaku - 42.6
(Antonee was 6th with an OPS of 37.8)

The next thing I did was compared their efficiency but putting each players pass %, dribble success %, and cross success % into decimal form, and adding those numbers up to get a Total Efficiency Score (TES).
The top 5 left backs with the highest TES in the EPL are:

5) Targett - 1.57

Among all stats I measured, Antonee was top 3 in: Interceptions, clearances, key passes, chances created, crosses completed, dribbles completed, dribble success % and cross success %.
After an hour of amateur unbiased statistical analysis, I can confirm that Antonee Robinson is really REALLY fucking good.
