Slowly but steadily, we are bringing more writers to the attention of teachers who know that their students need stories that affirm their existence. For far too long, only white experiences got that affirmation.
And a lot of that affirmation is mis-education. Little House on the Prairie is one bk with inaccurate history that is taught as if it is accurate. It isn't.
