When you are a Black Child, each business you start, you will be told that the market is saturated & your credentials will be thoroughly scrutinised. That time you have no money to fund it, your first client is basically your funder.
Then your family will ask “kanti iphi Imali, phela uphuma eUniversity”
Then you look around & you see Blacks in positions playing golf with the white supplier who has been the supplier there at their work since the day Peter denied Jesus 3 times before mokoko ola
Then the banks charge you maximum for every service they give you, but you still not good enough for loans
Then your childhood mates say “mara why ningasifaki” then you say “if you can write a Press Release, woza”. Then you hated because “uhlekisa ngabo”. Ewu!
Then one day you land a big client, then quickly you realize you must sell your car for the added operational expenses. Because you don’t have a rich uncle to give you gap funding moes
Sho! Big client is a scam, you have capitalised the work you do for them by 3 times the worth of your business & they don’t pay your invoices October, November & December. Then you back home, everyone is laughing at you!
Come February, your ego is so bruised, they pay you, then you buy a flashy BMW, get a pad in Sandton. Suddenly the ones who were laughing say “yho! Sekaya Choma, & uzowa, futhi”. Maybe we stop here for today.
