🚨 It’s preparation for separation week! 🚨

The most underrated week of the year: The week between Christmas and New Years where we plan our biggest improvements for next year.

AKA: Where we prepare to separate who we will become from who we are now.

(Thread👇👇 )
Becoming better next year isn’t promised. It’s something we must work towards diligently.

In reality, there are only two options:

- Remain the same 🥱
- Fight like hell to become better ✊

(There is no middle ground. If you don’t fight, you will remain the same.)
Through habits, beliefs, relationships, energy… There are many pathways to improvement.

We enter those pathways more effectively if we prepare ourselves to enter them with a strong plan.

We don't stumble into them by accident, and if we do, we won’t stay very long.
You likely have goals in 2021:

💪 Hit the gym consistently
🔺 Get a promotion.
💰 Earn X amount of money.

That’s great. But to do that, what are the preparation questions to think about NOW to hit your goals?

Ladies and gentlemen, here are 8:
1. Why will 2021 be my best year yet?

Start with why and articulate exactly why you deserve to take total control over 2021. Be sure to remain confident in yourself and include the best possible outcomes.
2. What’s my word of the year?

Pick a word (or short phrase) that will keep you relentlessly focused and energized all year long.

My word for 2021: Intentional
3. What are my biggest missions?

These aren’t limited your goals; these are the things you will do this year.

Finishing my second book is a tangible goal. But “be radically generous” is less of a 2021 goal and more of a 2021 philosophy.

It's your mission - do it and own it.
4. What books will I read?

Create a list using the Notes app on your phone.

Then purchase 2-5 books that intrigue you the most off Amazon or at your nearest book store.

Be sure to add to the list as the year continues.
5. What causes you will fight for to make the world better?

Goals mean nothing without a great cause behind them.

Examples of causes:
-Add 5 figures your daughter’s college fund
-Donate xx amount to charity
-Destroy a false self-narrative.

Causes are bigger than your goals.
6. What are my outreach methods?

If you’re an creator/entrepreneur, focus on building your brand in 2021. What platform will serve you best, and how will you engage consistently?

If you’re not a creator, what relationships should you nourish at work, home, and community?
7. What one skill will I adopt or sharpen.

Of course, you're not limited to one, but one major skill can greatly transform your life - if it's the right skill and you become incredible at it.

Plus, a year is a long time to become damn good at something new.
8. How will I continually reinforce the ideas I listed?

The answers to these questions are IMPORTANT. It’s not a one-off exercise to do then leave in a drawer.

Read your answers daily – preferably in the morning so you attack each day with tenacity and total focus.
Preparation starts NOW, before we enter the new year.

Those who follow a plan won’t just dream of success. They will know the required actions to attain it, while those who dream without a plan fall short.
