A lot of great teams up at the top of League Two, but the one I don’t see talked about enough? @FGRFC_Official

Here’s 6 reasons why you should be taking #WeAreFGR very, very seriously this season.

1: The Reliable Keeper

Last season, #WeAreFGR went through 4 inconsistent goalkeepers, and the less said about that Conrad Logan loan the better...

25-year-old Luke McGee, formerly at Portsmouth and Bradford, is proving the reliable goalkeeper #FGRFC have been looking for.

2: The Heir To Mills’ Throne

Left sided star Joseph Mills departed, but #WeAreFGR have found the ideal replacement for him in 24-year-old Nicky Cadden.

The Scottish wide man has bossed that left flank for #FGRFC with exceptional delivery from open play and set pieces.

3: The Young Defenders Proving Their Worth

With a defence no older than 29, several #WeAreFGR youngsters like Udoka Godwin-Malife (20), Kane Wilson (20), Dominic Berard (23), Jayden Richardson (20) and Liam Kitching (21) have all made key contributions to the team.

4: Making The Best Unit Better

With players like Carl Winchester (27) and Ebou Adams (24), midfield is the best part of #WeAreFGR’s team.

When you add new boys Dan Sweeney (26) and Elliott Whitehouse (27) and Birmingham loanee Odin Bailey (21), it gets even better.

5: Finally Finding A Goal Getter

The moment Christian Doidge left #WeAreFGR, the challenge would always come with replacing his goals.

Doidge hit 14 in his last season with #FGRFC. Jamille Matt, currently on 8 in L2, looks on track to not only match that but beat it.

6: Dangerous In The Dying Moments

#WeAreFGR are a team that provide a great balance of defence and attack in their current 3-4-1-2 set-up and score goals at crucial times.

#FGRFC have scored 10 in the last 15 minutes of games and only conceded 1 in that period of a match.

Essentially, what Mark Cooper has done following a disastrous end to 19-20 is refresh the #WeAreFGR squad. He’s removed players surplus to requirements and added quality across all units of the team.

#FGRFC easily look one of the promotion favourties this season.
