Good day guys.I have received several messages lately and the summary of what they want to know is how to plug into poultry business in 2021.I have decided to demystify poultry(chicken) business with one long thread. So if you are interested in poultry then, read and retweet this

I am discussing poultry as regards chicken. Bear in mind that Turkey isn't included in this tweet.
Let me dive in.
Poultry means domesticated birds that are kept for eggs, meat and feathers. Therefore, poultry "business" simply means exchanging eggs, meat,chicks and

feathers of the domesticated birds for money. It can also mean exploring every value chain associated with the domesticated birds to make profit.
There are several avenues to make money from poultry in 2012 and they can be categorized into two namely;
a.) Production
b.) Services

Let's start with production.
I will categorize production into three.
1.) Production of chicks
2.) Production of table eggs
3.) Production of Meat
PRODUCTION OF CHICKS
This has to do with the line of poultry that is known as BREEDERS. Breeders are the birds used for the

production of day old chicks that we buy at the hatchery. This venture is capital intensive because breeders do not come cheap. The truth is that, the business is good. Breeders are reared in deep liters(on the floor) or in cages. On the floor for natural mating and in the cage

for those that want to conduct AI(Artificial Insemination). There are different breeds of of breeders but for the purpose of this thread, let me just say broiler breeders and "Pullets" breeders. The fertilized eggs of breeders are hatched to produce chicks and sold as DOCs.

2. PRODUCTION OF TABLE EGGS
This involves the production of eggs that we consume as fried eggs(crumbled or omelette), boiled eggs(half done or properly done), for baking, egg rolls and many more. The process involves raising of female chicks called pullets from day old to

the point they begin to lay. If you cannot raise birds from day old, you can buy POL(point of lay) from professionals that are good at that. It is also not a must to produce eggs especially if you can't maintain the birds. You can opt for raising POL to sell. 12wks, 14wks and

16 Wks are ages to consider when raising POL.
3.) PRODUCTION OF MEAT
I won't talk much on this because many people raised broilers for Christmas. The aspect I will talk about is raising broilers for eateries and the likes. This is also capital intensive because the demand most

times is from 500 birds and above. Broilers in this case are sold using their body weight. For you to thrive in this business, your FCR(feed Conversion Ratio) must be intact. Your birds should attain 2kg within 5 weeks or 6 weeks max. Failure to achieve this is disaster because

you are paid per kg live weight.

B.) SERVICES
Let me state here that in production you will require funds either small or huge but there are services that you need integrity and not money.
Here are some of the services you can render and make money in 2021.
1. Supply of DOC:

you need integrity to do this. If you know breeder farmers, you can talk to them and sell their chicks for them. You just need to know what you are selling and add your own charges. Let's say you want to sell broiler DOC, just advertise on your platform or meet individual farmers

that you can supply them DOC. All you need to know is the price and you add N50 to it depending on quantity the farmer wants. The farmer can pay you or you have an understanding with the breeder that N50 on each chick. N50 multiplied by 500 chicks is N25k. Do that three times in

one month and you will be earning more than the minimum wage of 30k.
2.) Supply or sales of drugs and Vaccines.
