just a lil thread of my
favourite
local releases of 2020:

1. surprising literally nobody we have @SPQR_songs. they released a gorgeous crowdfunded 10â ep and have a 7â single for sale currently on their bandcamp, non stop bangers: https://spqrofficial.bandcamp.com/album/no-brain-no-pain-ep
2. i simp so hard for @zuzu and itâs not okay. how it feels is a stunner of an ep though, like literally so good. i think the 12â vinyl might be sold out now (???) but it should still be streamed excessively: https://open.spotify.com/album/49fsS2odS0bn5gu3UFxqK0?si=ZrMhbr2VQUWlPWKFTRRQLg
3. midwest emo from a bunch of scousers? @HubbyMatBand put out a dead good ep onto bandcamp and you should buy it or stream it now even tho iâm mad they havenât done a tape release: https://husbandmaterial.bandcamp.com/album/husband-material
4. canât wait for @mypizzagirl to come back to phase one for a pint but in the meantime: cape canaveral is a great single with a great music vid:
5. coughinâ vicars donât have a twitter but they DO have a bandcamp through which you can buy their sick second ep âart damageâ. really great punk, diy through and through: https://coughinvicars.bandcamp.com/album/art-damage-ep
6. @SalttheSnailUK released a couple of great singles and a 7â of their song âjunkyard catâ which is honestly so fucking good: https://saltthesnailband.bandcamp.com/track/junkyard-cat
7. no list would be complete without my e-boy angels @thepostromantic - their single âbad friendâ is too good and it infuriates me. debut album when lads? https://open.spotify.com/album/2b4gNBxaWAVTQO25L2L5HY?si=5Z-5q33ORWaPy18kswGFfA
8. i think itâs imperative you pre-order @eyesorejinxâs ep âthe exile parlourâ on vinyl at ur earliest convenience. a sick band with great energy. big things await: https://open.spotify.com/album/4pV8PV1Qar2w2eJ9l3aEGE?si=VKALXyzZQIKdR6oeT56HIQ
9. @_ohmns_ for u igâers cos theyâre twitterless, this sick garage punk band released a vinyl reissue of their debut ep and a couple of great singles. only seen them live once but wow, get on em: https://ohmns.bandcamp.com/album/the-rice-tape
10. my pal @iamamberjay released a new single âpencilled brimsâ and itâs so goddamn catchy. sheâs gonna be huge just watch: https://open.spotify.com/track/5IF4H1R5nnloOUfMca682H?si=o1FlsTspRdGnHLj5uzPxJA
merseyside and the surrounding areas has some incredible grassroots talent who deserve all the success in the world. open ur pockets and spend ur xmas money asap

itâs entirely possible iâm getting overly sentimental but being involved in the local music scene has changed my life and i miss it desperately. stream, buy, show up when you can. superstars donât live in a vaccum, they start out playing shitty gigs in 100 cap GMVâs
