Coming from Ibadan to Lagos, I decided to take the train. The train station in Ibadan is at Moniya and that of Lagos is at Alogomeji ebutemetta.
There's no e-ticketing yet as there's still a lot of work ongoing.

A thread
You have to get to the train station to get a ticket, you only need any means of Identification to purchase a ticket.
Tickets price ranges from 2500 to 5000 to 6000 depending on if you want a regular ticket, first class or business class.
Now there's no african time.
You need to get to get to the train station at least 30 minutes before departure time.
The train leaves Ibadan by 8am to Lagos Mondays to Fridays and 4pm from Lagos to Ibadan Mondays to Fridays as well.
On Saturdays, the train leaves Ibadan by 8:30am for Lagos and 6pm from Lagos
The railway doesn't work on Sundays.
Left Ibadan 8am sharp got to Lagos 10:42. The train goes through/stop over at Abeokuta. It's comfortable, relaxing, modern day but slow. It's slow because people especially at Agege are on rail tracks selling hence the need to not hit anyone,
and probably the train still needs to grind well on its new tracks and wheels. The highlight for me was that mirrors around the restroom were installed with consideration for the 5ft people like me☺️
You can also charge your gadgets in the train and it's one luggage to person, it's for people and not for loads Biko.
There's a lot of construction and management going on but it's totally less stressful and worth it.
