All of Congress swear an oath to protect & defend the Constitution which establishes a republican form of govt. The whole point of a republic is that contests for power are conducted by rules & where all parties agree to respect the result whether they lose or win.

TX filed a brazenly seditious lawsuit calling for the Supreme Court to overturn election results in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, &Michigan &hand their electoral votes to Trump, a blatant attempt to overturn the 2020 election, end constitutional govt & install Trump in power.

This lawsuit was a flagrant attempt to overturn the constitutional system &impose through authoritarian means the rule of a corrupt criminal. It’s a "seditious abuse of the judicial process” GA, PA, MI, & WI jointly wrote in their response to Texas trying to steal their elections

The Constitution stipulates that insurrectionists who violate their oath are not allowed to serve in Congress. "No person shall be a Sen or Rep in Congress…who…having previously taken an oath to support the Constitution of the US shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion”

The lie that Biden stole the election is now official GOP dogma. It’s not a coincidence that the GOP is ignoring the deadly pandemic while they try to overturn the Constitution. They feel they can ignore the welfare of the American people because they aren’t accountable to them.

The GOP has embraced sedition as an electoral strategy. Instead of distancing themselves from trump the GOP have fallen in line behind him. Faced with a choice between upholding democracy & destroying it to curry favor with the millions of voters trump can convince of...

...anything, they have embraced the latter with chilling gusto. The GOP knows something many Democrats have taken too long to realize: that a lot of voters aren’t all that attached to democracy. Or logic. Republicans have been undermining democracy for years & continue to do so.

They’ve thrown voters off the rolls, closed polling places & generally made it harder for Democrats to win elections & to govern if they prevail. Just because a few have drawn the line doesn’t mean we’re getting out of this any time soon. The GOP which represents a minority of...

...voters has chosen power over democracy. Unless this escalating conservative extremism halts from the inside this will end eventually in a violent confrontation. America was founded by people who thought it was worth putting their lives on the line to throw off tyrannical rule.

Republicans of good conscience need to come to terms with the fact that undermining democracy is what their party stands for now &voters are rewarding them for it. So the GOP isn’t going to suddenly grow a conscience or the will to reverse the damage they’ve done to our country.

What should be the remedy for these sedition acts? Don’t seat these reps or censure their behavior. If 2 or more persons conspire to commit sedition each shall be fined and/or imprisoned not more than 20 years &shall be ineligible for employment by the United States
