Why Groundhog day by Eminem got one of the most craziest and maginifenct concepts of all time

******************************
"Groundhog day" is a song Eminem had made for the deluxe edition of MMLP2 and it was inspired by the 1993 movie, "Groundhog day". In order to have a better understanding of the concept of the song, we need to have an idea about the movie itself. So let's cover that first.
The main character of the movie is named Phill and he's a weatherman. He gets sent to this town with couple of colleagues himself and Phill later finds himself reliving the same day over and over. In spite of how he decides to spend the day, he would wake up to the same day.
So in order for a specific sequence to be called "Groundhog Day", there has to be some sort of a repetition right? Did Em just call the song "Groundhog day" and left out the main idea of the name? He did not. He finds way to convey the listeners he's having a groundhog day in the
song and the method he used to demonstrate that is by manipulating the rhyme schemes.

What? How? What??

The first verse begins with him reminiscing about his childhood and keep in mind that this song only has a one chorus to it and its at end of the song.
So Em would starts his first verse talking about his childhood and would carry the same rhyme scheme throughout the verse. When he's done with a verse, a short interlude from comic books would play and he would begin the second verse right after that. Same thing for goes for 3rd
Verse, and fourth. A verse is equivalent to a day and once he finishes a verse, he begins the next verse using the same rhyme scheme he was rapping on the previous one. He continues this for almost 2 and half minutes. He's having the same day over and over,in the song, same verse.
In the movie, this Phil guy tries to gets tired of living the same day again and again and decides to see if he could break the cycle if he ends himself. He realises and he cannot and Eminem tries something similar in the song as well. He wants to break the scheme and he tries to
Do that by becoming aggressive and delivering some of the hardest bars he's done to this day. He goes from double entendres to triple to just flowing like a fuckin fish in the water and unlike Phil, he sounds awfully pleased about what that battle mentality has accumulated to.
*spoiler alert 📢 *so in order for Phill to break the curse or whatever, he realises he has to change his ways and SHIT! almost forgot,Phill is a narcissistic asshole in the movie btw. So Phill has to change his ways and he does and manages to put an end to reliving the same day.
But in Eminem's case, its the total opposite. Em finishes the song saying he won't quit and he won't change. Another way of him saying he would be rapping till the day he dies and not anybody can stop him even though it means being trapped in a fuckin paradox that may never ends.
Here's the link for the song and I really recommend you to check it and the mmlp2 album if you haven't. You'll find some of the best penmanship he has shown through his entire career you'll surely see how much he paid attention to little details in songs including Groundhog day.
