I also don't know a lot about the Molly Conger situation but I'm going to go with A. Gorcenski and others I respect and I also want to add that B. While more prevalent in teens the behavior exhibited by those attacking Conger is not exclusive to teenagers.
By which I mean that this type of stuff is a harassment trend that has been going on for some while. I don't know what to call it. "THIS PERSON IS LIRERALLY THE DEVIL PLEASE READ ALL SCREENSHOTS" doesn't have a good ring to it but that's what this type of harassment looks like.
I also don't think that what is going on against Conger is some sort of fascist psyops campaign or whatever. Occam's razor says "naturally occurring harassment campaign that we've all seen a bunch on this site". I'm sure the fash will try to jump on at some point though.

Anyway in terms of the substance, Molly Conger shouldn't have called someone a tenderqueer but also she didn't accuse anyone of being a fed. making a joke about feds dividing leftists about some random Twitter account != Accusing a fellow activist of being a federal agent.
Another thing, Conger's actions materially hurt Nazis and that is worth a LOT in my book. Getting Nazis fired and getting them put in jail and getting them exposed are things that make us all safer.
And like you don't have to put up with an activist not being educated, but you also can choose not to try to destroy them by joining in a harassment campaign. I had a public spat with Dan Olson about otherkin a while back, but the dude does /valuable work/. I tell ppl both.
So like while I wish Olson, for example, would've listened to me as a gender fluid person and an otherkin rather than asserting that otherkin hurt transgender people, and I'll freely tell that when the topic of his videos comes up in circles I'm in, his ignorance != destroy him
And there are several things that I think people have to weigh. With Olson I don't take a hardline stance against him because he's not out here everyday saying anti otherkin stuff, his stance is mainly misinformed and biased not destructionist, and he hurts the alt right.
And his stance is wrong and it is harmful and I don't trust him because of it. But that doesn't make him someone necessary of destruction. And nobody deserves a harassment campaign, and an attempt to absolutely destroy someone's career is either justified, or it's 100% harassment
With Olson, I'd like him to do research and listen to transgender otherkin and use some common sense. You have to have ideas of what you actually want when you spot someone who is uneducated about stuff. And that doesn't undermine drawing hard lines, it actually /helps/.
Imagine if all of the time that transgender people spent destroying each other on this website was used instead to amplify the voices of trans POC and make racism 100% unacceptable within trans twitter. And do things beyond Twitter!
And I could go on and likely will in the morning but the differences in what people get torn down over and who gets torn down are startling. LGBTQ people get torn down for slight misteps about /their own identity/, meanwhile "racist comment everyday" white youtuber is fine....
Also, it's not a slippery slope. Not tearing down other LGBTQ people for slight misteps does not mean that racist white gamer dude will get a pass (or should, because he 1000% fucking shouldn't). It means we can devote attention to boosting the voices of POC, for example.
& yes, could also devote attention to tearing down racist gamer dude, & hopefully ppl will because the less of those people on youtube the better but I didn't use that in previous example because, even though it's 1000% necessary work I also don't like taking so much about wt ppl
Anyway instead of tearing down molly conger please instead tear down the actual Nazis that are out there. I guarantee you if they get power they will have you, me, and molly conger up against the wall and while your harassment won't lose a struggle it does burn people out.
And the work that people like Gorcenski and Conger do is often soul destroying work, you basically sacrifice a part of yourself to do it. So the less people who end up taking up that mantle because infighting has contributed to burning out the previous person, the better.
