I've been a little slack with my book post so will mention a few each day this week, starting with Diamond Hill, poet @Kit_Fan_'s debut which I've read and enjoyed hugely, a Greene-esque story of corruption and redemption set in a Hong Kong slum in '97. From @dialoguebooks, May-
- and here's another exciting debut, a coming-of-age story that follows two brothers through the Dublin underworld. #BoysDontCry is by Fiona Scarlett and is published in April by @FaberBooks @LouisaJoyner
- and here's This One Sky Day - great title - the latest from @LeoneRoss, which 'blisters with life, love, grief and magic' says @niven_govinden. Out in April, again from @FaberBooks (and this is my proof copy - the finished cover is gorgeous).
- and speaking of @niven_govinden, his 6th novel, 'Diary of a Film' is 'his best yet - smart, sexy and cinematic' ( @ahmpreston). It's out in February, again from @dialoguebooks
I'll give shout-outs to four or five forthcoming books each day this week, and if you like the sound of any and can pre-order, please do! It helps both authors and especially bookshops, struggling at this difficult time. Now better start my first turkey-free day.
