i was on my way to spit at the gate of my former high school , cos I'm still not over that shit, when i got distracted by pretty rocks.
so i stopped over to pseudomap them. but then as i moved on, kept realizing kuna disaster hapa in the making.
let me explain...

the road is the one from mwiria heading to kibugu. the road got tarmacadamized recently and i like such places cos they dig up rocks that would otherwise not be accessible easily.
we back.
the area is covered by mt kenya black volcanics that weather to the fertile red soil that we survive on.
on pic 1 look at how it turns from black to reddish white...

the black rock im holding is from the red rock nahuko. that's why it's important to have a fresh sample using a rock hammer.
but as you can tell from our footwear that we don't have the correct tools to get a sample.

so when they excavate the rocks and leave the roads like this. it's only a matter of time before the rocks on the left turn to soil and collapse on the road
in some areas landslidesque behaviour is already visible. hapa half the road is covered. na iko kwa corners. tricky
once the rock turns to dust kwisha. that hard volcanic rock that is used for construction weathers to such friable rock that unavunja na vidole ata. then the tree is on you on a rainy night.
so what's need to be done here? mi sijui, iyo ni mambo ya geotechnician na civil engineer. but it needs to be done soonest cos whew.
anyway, here's a video showing the extent of this potential nightmare.
