Why I think Manchester United need rightback.

A thread:
Some topics I'm discussing in this thread:
- The reasons I want a rightback.
- New tactics / patterns of play.
- Rightback options and comparing them.
1 . THE REASONS I WANT RIGHTBACK.

There are a couple reasons I want a new rightback
- Depth
- Don't think AWB is good enough in certain things.
- Balance
- Depth.

Depth in the rightback position is a massive problem at United now with AWB out injured, Fosu-Mensah and Williams not being good enough and Dalot out on loan, you can see that there are massive problems there.
- AWB not good enough (certain things).

First of all I like AWB so there's no agenda involved what so ever but I just think that AWB isn't a Champions League winning rightback and complete enough to be a starting rightback for Manchester United.
AWB get's dragged out of position too often for my liking because he is tucking in way too much what leaves a lot of space behind him where the opponent can capitalize on for example the Brighton game.
Brighton exploited AWB's weakness by giving crosses from the left side to the far post, hitting the bar / post 2-3 times from his side and a late equalizer from his side what could've costed us 2 valuable points.
AWB main problem is his ability to attack / cross and his ability on the ball and passing the ball just isn't good enough for a Man United fullback and this is my main reason I want a new rightback, I like my fullbacks to be comfortable in the ball and be able to attack.
- Balance

I like my team to be balanced and be a threat from both sides what we just aren't at the moment because AWB can't attack, the opponent can leave him free and swamp our left side what results in us being way less creative from both flanks.
A attacking rightback will give us way more balance and threat, we already have an attacking option on the left side with Telles so if we could add an attacking 1 on the right it will make us unpredictable and hard to mark.
This also means Greenwood can play as an inside foward instead of a winger that will give us way more threat from our right side attacking wise, look at Liverpool with Salah and Trent. Could work wonders for us in attacking fase having another player to put a cross in the box.
2 . NEW TACTICS / PATTERNS OF PLAY.

With AWB being weak going foward you always have to play a rightwinger to form any threat from the right at all, so Ole has to be static with his tactics playing either 433, 442 or 4231.
But if we would buy a rightback that is also very comfortable going foward, we could be flexable and we could easily change the system of play from either a back 4 to a 5 or vice versa, this would make us a way harder team to predict.
We could change our approach to a game without losing our right side and thats what we've been lacking a lot from AWB while playing a 532, 343 or 352, teams find it easy to play against us while using a back 3 because all they do is swamp our left side and that kills our flanks.
3 . RIGHTBACK OPTIONS AND COMPARING THEM.

There are a couple rightbacks that I would love at Manchester United, I will compare them all with AWB and each other to see who statistically is the best.
Here's the shortlist of rightbacks I would love, in order.

1. Pereira🇵🇹 - 27 ( Leicester City).
2. Cash🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 - 23 ( Aston Villa ).
3. Lamptey🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 - 20 ( Brighton ).
4. Pavard🇫🇷 - 24 ( Bayern München ).

-Pavard - 84.2%
-AWB - 80.8%
-Pereira - 78.6%
-Lamptey - 78.1%
-Cash - 76.9%

Dribbles P/90:
-Pereira - 2.1
-Lamptey - 1.2
-AWB - 0.6
-Cash - 0.3
-Pavard - 0.3

Crosses P/90:
-Lamptey - 0.9
-Cash - 0.6
-Pavard - 0.4
-Pereira - 0.3
-AWB - 0.1
Defensive stats.

-Pereira - 3.5
-AWB - 2.8
-Cash - 2.6
-Pavard - 1.9
-Lamptey - 1.5

-AWB - 0.5
-Cash - 0.3
-Pereira - 0.2

-Pavard - 1.9
-Pereira - 1.9
-Lamptey - 1.7
-AWB - 1.3
I don't think rightback is our main problem but we really should consider buying 1 very soon.
