Here I've compared his 19/20 season stats to a similar profile player in Mason mount, brandt (blue) is more of a creative attacking mid focusing more on shot creating actions while mount(yellow) is more of a goal threat and less creative.

He played his best football as a CM & CAM.But due to injury crisis he was forced to play on wings many times which really didn't help him.

superb linkup play, fast thinking and great ball control, he has it all for a creative midfielder.
However, the things where he lacks is, he can be lazy sometimes and when things dosen't workout he can be clumsy. he dosen't go into duels and just can't defend.

As the new season came we had high expectations from him, but so far he hasn't been able to provide anything.
His lack of playing time and constant change in position by favre didn't help him but his inconsistency has been a big problem for bvb.

It clearly shows how underperforming he has been this season, missed big chances & didn't create enoygh. He has all the traits to be one of the best cm's at the moment but his inconsistency is the one big problem for him.

With that being said, he can still easily turn his season around with the amount of talent he has.
I personally think that selling him would be a big mistake even though he hasn't provided much this season he is still worth taking a risk.
