Just saw somebody diss reservation on account of the myth perpetuated by many blinded by their privilege that it kills 'merit'

This needs to be fcuking addressed. here we go..
Firstly ,there has been no empirical proof to the myth that officials/candidates selected through 1/

quotas are inefficient or that those selected otherwise perform better.
administrative efficiency is an outcome of the actions taken by officials after they have been appointed or promoted and is not tied to the selection method itself 2/n

Merit can't be measured from the end point but starting point..let me explain this to you with an example.there is a metre wherein some are starting off from within touching distances of the end point or several steps ahead of the start point and some aren't even starting 3/n

from the start point but 20 steps behind that ..will this race be a fair measure to judge 'merit '..

So merit is the distance u cover on ur own ,not on somebody else's provided privileges ..
So ,In order to fix the inequality of opportunity problem 4/n

we need to put in special provisions..in order to achieve equality ,we need to give differential treatment .most anti reservationists don't follow this bit that equality doesn't necessarily mean same treatment ..this can be best explained with this pic below.. 5/n

in order to ensure each one of the sprinters runs the same distance ,they need to be differentially placed ..

Providing fellowships ,free coaching etc are also affirmative actions like reservation wherein u are giving preferential treatment to address inequalities but there 6/n

are also other inequalities at play n not Just one which kind of mandates the need of reservation

Rural urban
Gender
Rich-poor
Caste

20 % upper caste Hindus occupy 60-80% posts/positions in all sarkari ministeries/departments(indian express)7/n

Yeh ss media houses main UC Hindus ka representation batata hai
phir bhi daiya tauba ki Hindu Upper caste ka representation khatre mai hai..how stupid can u possibly be 8/n

Ergo Reservation is the strongest n last resort mechanism to address n tackle caste based inequality .not sufficient but definitely necessary. inadequate n in need of repair but the most effective available instrument .it ends only when caste based inequalities/discrimination end
