Covid Data 1: At 328 million on December 27, 2020, the US has about 4% of world’s population, but 24% of the covid infection cases and 19% of the deaths. US has 19 million cases (discovered) and 332,000 deaths. So 5.8% of the US population is infected and 0.1% have died.
Covid Data 2: Rest of the world with population of about 7,470 million has 61 million cases (discovered) and 1,430,000 deaths. So 0.8% of the world population has been infected and 0.019% have died. So the US has done much worse than the rest of the world.
Covid Data 3: If US performed the same as the world (0.8% of population) it should only have 2.6 million infection cases and only 63,000 deaths (0.019%). US has 19 million cases and 332,000 deaths - so added 16.4 million cases and 269,000 deaths are due to Trump.
Covid Data 4: With one of the best health systems in the world the US usually does much better AND helps the rest of the world. At the time of the Ebola outbreak, Obama acted swiftly to help the world contain it mostly to Africa. He even sent a Naval hospital ship to west Africa!
Covid Data 5: Trump trashed the US health system, got rid of office of pandemic response created by Obama, left the World Health Organization, and did everything possible to ruin US efforts. So the death rate in the US should have been lower than stated above.
Covid Data 6: Trump has done the worst anyone could have done! He has fought wearing masks, criticized health experts and even encouraged violence against them and local governments that tried to do anything. We are paying the price by sky high infections and deaths.
Covid Data 7: The US should have done the best, not the worst, helped the World Health Organization and the rest of the world, and been the model for the rest of the world. Each day, more people die in the US than died on 9/11, and yet he does not even help us grieve the dying!
