it should be remembered when discussing indigenous issues in north america that being indigenous is an ethnicity not a race. There are white/black/asian/etc natives. And indigenous communities are generally anti-black and routinely deny tribal citizenship to black natives.
In fact there’s a history of black people owned by indigenous people such as the five “civilized” tribes of the south who owned slaves and fought for the confederacy. All non-black natives benefit from anti-blackness.
Also black americans are indigenous too just permanently displaced. The reason we don’t consider black americans indigenous is because their traditional cultures and ways of life have been destroyed and lost unlike the destruction of native cultures which are ongoing.
