2020 was year zero—a transition.

2021 will be the first year of what the most powerful and controlling people in the world want the world to be.

Accept this as the darkness to your light. Do your best to be independent/free. Life will never be the same, but you can be more YOU.
Its never been more important to call things how you see them and listen to your BS detector and not anyone elses. To ‘make your own kind of music, sing your own special song’, as the song goes. You, the individual, matter. Society will tell you otherwise harder than ever before.
The world is being made in your image in that the world is becoming the resistance to you and your muse, a la Pressfield. When we need independence most, when you matter most, is when the world will be most oppressive. You need not ever pick up a sword, most likely—a pen will do.
I cannot tell you how hard genuinely and truly independent art fucks the machine up. It’s like tossing motorcycles between the gears. This has always been true through history—but we have resources now like never before. Our bangs will be bigger. We are Hummers across the desert.
Entertainment is a trillions of dollars industry—it is a powerful country unto itself, spread across many other countries, but mostly the US and China. They could destroy all consumer cameras tomorrow. Make art that makes them want to—make them regret whats been put in our hands.
You should want to make a movie that makes the most powerful people in the world regret ever manufacturing and selling a civilian a camera. You can do so now, from your home. It wont cost as much as you think. Mostly you’ll have to learn your instrument. It is a 🎸 in your hands.
Art such as filmmaking that traditionally took tons of people working together to make (and thus made true artistry/auteurship/independence impossible) but can now be made by one person, acting like a painter to canvas, or a writer to paper, is the most important art to make now.
Rock was not invented the moment the electric guitar was invented—it took the instrument being misused in order for that to happen. Technology doesnt make art—misusing technology makes art. Buy the machine and then breathe life into it with a kiss. Turn the camera into a woman.
Misuse the machine world they are creating in order to stifle you. The most powerful people in the world want to turn the world into a machine—and they will probably be allowed to. But you will always be able to breathe life into the metal. Turn the earth into your rock guitar.
I don't know what the way is, but I know there is a way to fuck Zoom such that Zoom becomes sentient and realizes it's a woman, a la misusing an electric guitar such that it becomes a rock guitar. Every new machine and paradigm they throw at you to kill/enslave you, make love to.
James Bond is alchemy, is aikido, is choosing an immortal path in a world that wants only to kill you. Sure he's good with a gun, but his most powerful weapon is his cock. Lesson there is fuck whatever comes to kill you, and you can never die.

This tweet is not about penises.
Every robot can, through misuse and love, be given sentience that turns it into a woman—an avatar for the muse to live through. You have probably never heard about this before, but it is a common trope, yet is rarely discussed—likely because it is key to saving the literal world.
Be the Jimi Hendrix of any metal The Man puts in/on your hands in order to shackle you.

There will be more attempts to stifle the independent spirit than ever before, but thus more opportunities for rock and roll (true rock and roll—not just 'rock music').
If you go into 2021 having read this thread and understanding even 1% of it, youre golden.

I will leave you with one more fact:

Sealab 2020 was a crap cartoon from the 70s nobody cared about.

Sealab 2021 was that cartoon alchemized into something great.

Do that with 2020/2021
