Several promises: to bump up the individual payment while still securing the hundreds of billions in PPP aid to small business from Senate leadership etc. Promises to either meaningfully revise or terminate 230 (one of the most important things he can do now)...
So now the ball is in the Senate’s court especially. That’s correct, all those rinos who are already lost to the Trump loyalist electorate have promised they’ll do this. Now they can either jump off of a political cliff or do what they promised...
If they fail the chance that they’ll be primaried in brutal fashion is that much higher. Imo, it was already pretty high. Now they own this shit. Trump knows, as all of us concerned out here know, that if Govt. is completely run by Dems come Jan. It’d be so much worse than it is.
This was a lose/lose for Trump unless he made his political enemies own it. Now they do. He’s made the best of a bad Bill while still getting critical aid out. Do any of us really think that a Biden admin and Dem Congress won’t do exponentially worse? Don’t kid yourself.
The above are just simple facts. Trump got a bunch of coat tail rinos to own his revisions for the people. Facing a serious threat of a veto override he managed to make these smarmy pols promise us to do right by us. Call it what you want... I say that’s a well played hand.
And btw, if you’re fixated on the individual payments and the foreign aid and haven’t mentioned the PPP aid then you shouldn’t be in the conversation. Loeffler and Purdue are trailing in reliable polls (not the bullshit msm polls). Think on it...
A veto here, if not overridden by McConnell, has a high likelihood right now of kicking this thing to Biden’s desk with a Dem Senate tiebreak majority. Use your heads MAGA people. What happens in that scenario is a real nightmare. Stop listening to the never trump wonks.
@Rothbard1776 tell me how you think this is off-point? Idea that he caved to anything here just seems so off to me. As if he went through everything he did to just fizzle out? That’s a joke. He knows what leverage he has here and what he doesn’t. As I see it, he just gained more.
Oh yeah, to the deep toilet takes on how he “got rolled”... 1. “Rolled” is not when your own majority lies to you. Nothin he can do, except to leverage that trash which he’s done here. That’s how govt. works. 2. Watch and see how fast those who “rolled” him bottom out w/o Trump.
