Trumpists are now in favor of martial law after 8 yrs of screaming abt their fantasy of the always impending TYRANNY!!! of Obama declaring martial law. They are insistent now that BIDEN will do so in January, also TYRANNY! Yet they're literally begging Trump to do it. THREAD.
Trumpists don't actually know what martial law entails, or they wouldn't be calling for it as a way to change an election outcome, something it absolutely cannot do. They're confusing it w a military coup. (Some of them do understand & are calling for that, alarmingly.)
Some Trumpists of the Q variety claim martial law was *already declared* months ago & we just don't know it, also a misunderstanding of martial law. It's not subtle.
The very surveillance, clampdown on freedom of speech, lockdowns, & curfews they despise when used to save American lives are commonplace in martial law. A few of them know this & say it's a worthwhile sacrifice to keep their God Emperor (their words; not mine) in power.
To be fair, I've only seen "God Emperor" a few times. But I have seen a "Christian" literally praying to Trump when he was in a tight spot.
They want Trump to stay in office to protect them from things like Covid restrictions. They're quite willing to endure even tighter restrictions to make it happen. Meaning: They despise sacrifice to save lives but welcome sacrifice to benefit a wealthy politician who hates them.
Trump would immediately call security if a single Trumpist showed up at Mar-a-Lago w/o paying.
However, the ppl who know what martial law entails are the minority of Trumpists. Most of them post abt things like being out there w guns to "help," or imagining the troops killing liberals and/or arresting them & holding tribunals while Trumpists watch.
The reason they're so hot for martial law under Trump & so irrationally fearful of it under Obama or Biden even though it never did/never will happen, is bc they imagine "martial law" means the troops are out in the streets enforcing on side's political agenda.

Trumpists talk constantly abt how they're going to "enjoy the show" when in reality, w no 2A bc MARTIAL LAW, every weapon they have on them when they approach troops *armed* will be confiscated.
And have they seen the military lately? It's super diverse. That Black Marine won't be impressed by your Confederate flag and 1488 tats.
Anyway, they want martial law for the same reason they wanted Trump in the first place-- they think it will hurt us and NOT hurt them.
Swapping military governance for civilian governance won't change the election outcome. At all. And neither the Army, nor the Navy, nor the Air Force, nor the Marines, nor the National Guard, nor the Coast Guard will stage a coup to overturn this election. Try Space Force.
