What will damaging mobile towers achieve? 27 petrol pumps in Delhi's border belt have complained of zero business in past 30 days. Factories are complaining of losses & salary/job cuts. So fears of farmers due to fear mongering by netas leads to real losses on ground to industry?

Govt says mandis are not going away. Farmers are getting an additional avenue to market their produce. Farmers stand to gain? Are protesting farmers ill informed & mere fronts of ``Aarthiyas'' who will have to shape up once private players move in for more cost effective systems?

Should Punjab & Haryana farmers be growing wheat & paddy? India has huge surplus. There is not enough storage. Because of #MSP not competitive to export. Farmers saved us in 1960s & 70s but now must move & change with times. They are harming their own interests & our environment.

Experts say farm to plate costs are very high in India due to multiplicity of middlemen & unproductive supply chains. India needs private investment in agriculture/supply chain for domestic market & exports. #MSP was needed in an 70s now markets should make farmers & India richer

86 % farmers have small holdings in India. Prof Ashok Gulati believes they will benefit with contract farming. Will have access to better markets. When they form a cooperative will have better bargaining power. Gives eg of milk & poultry, driven by coop/pvt sector. Better returns

Sticking to paddy & wheat is also damaging environment say expert. Punjab & Haryana are among 3 global Red zones in depleting water table. Stubble burning damaging health. Crop diversification is needed for the sake of Punjab & Haryana farmers & our health. Harming own interests?

A positive development against the backdrop of targeting of mobile towers in #Punjab. This sarpanch requests @reliancejio to restore the damaged tower in his area & promises all assistance (good sense must prevail. One must not cut nose to spite face). Our aim shud be #IndiaFirst
