But Andrews insists he hasn't changed his approach to leading.
"My approach is to not run from a fight, and not cower when the challenge is on," he says. "You've got to find it in yourself to be able to craft a clear and concise strategy, one that's based in science, one that's based in evidence.
"Then have the courage of your convictions to actually deliver that strategy, not be thrown off course by the loudest voices, the critics, those who are motivated by self-interest.”
