‘Aggressively shield the vulnerable’ as an alternative to lockdown? Those of us who’ve been shielding the vulnerable throughout this are already doing that. What it really means is isolating the vulnerable in perpetuity as the virus runs rampant and mutations proliferate.
The vulnerable are currently being shielded. And yet here we are. Is the alternative to put them in some sort of solitary confinement forever - while everyone else spreads it even more - because I don’t get what is being proposed here?
Tell me how letting Covid spread out of control would’ve helped me to shield my grandmother these past 9 months. Would I have been more or less likely to have given it to her when I was going out to do her shopping etc? What do you think.
