Would you rather display your work in a gallery/show or virtual gallery and sell it for cr*pto?
the beauty of physical art and viewing art in galleries/in person can never be replicated and the focus is the interaction with the viewer and the exhibition. With cr*pto that beauty disappears and the artistic aspect disappears, it’s only an item of monetary ‘value’
ask yourself if your purpose is to sell work and create items of value (regardless of quality) or if you’re trying to create something for artistic and/or expressive purposes.
a lot of artists have lost themselves in this clamber for money/validation from online collectors who have no knowledge of art or its’ importance in the world. You’re simply a product and investment to them. Like if an artist created solely for collectors and no one else to see
Imagine if Rothko painted works solely for individual collectors and their investments instead of painting for what he felt was his purpose...what is the point? There is none.
