If you tell me you want to be my friend and later on the line try to turn it into a relationship, the relationship will feel unstable to me, I will feel like you played with my emotions, and I will have a hard time trusting you.
Instead, some people need to know upfront what you truly want whether yâall are both there or not, I. Need. To. Know. From. The. Beginning. There is a such thing as taking it slow, getting to know someone if you will.

From the beginning can not be implemented later down the line for me. I will have already compartmentalized you as a friend and friend alone. I do not like the feeling of rugs being pulled from under me. I will also feel like I have no control in the relationship.
