Today #sapphixywatches AvP: Requiem (extended cut)

I haven't seen this one before, but my expectations are based on the prior movie, which means it won't take much to impress me

Already I'm loving the design of the Predator tech

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that the factory standard video game protagonist is the human hero of this movie

Already it's a downgrade from one of the best things about AvP, which was Alexa Woods (Sanaa Lathan)

Shit, am I going to have to keep track of more than one thirtysomething brown-haired white dude?

Ah, yes, because insinuating that a straight man might like dick is such a scathing thing to say

Every time a chestburster emerges in a movie, some part of my brain goes, "Hello my honey, hello my baby, hello my ragtime girl "

Why is their house's street number 7 digits long? Is this a wherever the hell they are thing?

I want the chestburster who popped out of the kid to be smaller than the rest because it got child genes

It'd make about as much sense as "every ten minutes because decimal time"

Okay so now Badge White Man is dead, which leaves us with Slacker, Convict, and Dad out of the white men I'm supposed to keep track of

Credit where credit's due, they didn't hesitate to make us sympathize with people and then just straight up kill them

Wait, are Slacker and Blondie supposed to be in high school?

Xander and Cordelia were more believable as students

I don't think OSHA would like this factory

And, of course, the one Black dude in this group dies first, although at least he's not the first human to die in the movie as a whole

Look, I know what movie I'm talking about here, but I have to say it: how the fuck does the blue glow-stick fluid dissolve fucking *water*?

That is a LOT of blood

I'm not sure, but I think that's the first time we've seen multiple chestbursters out of one host, and a chestburster implanted by a drone rather than a facehugger

I'm guessing that the drone is a nascent queen, maybe?

Another Black man appears in the cast!

Let's see if he outlives the white dude he was introduced with

Well that's all kinds of disturbing and probably the most skin-crawling thing I've ever seen in an Alien or a Predator movie

Oh, the new white dude and the new Black dude died at the same time
