My little sister went to college and studied engineering at Michigan State University. As a talented female in engineering she had her choice of high paying W2 jobs when she got out.

After working a few years at Herman Miller designing office furniture she had enough and quit.
She worked went to work at a pizza place, made sandwiches at subway and did some Uber/Lyft. Said she wanted to do her own thing one day

Everyone in our family gave her đź’© for it. A LOT of smack was talked about her behind her back. Wasting her fancy degree and all.
All the waste in the clothing world bummer her out. She decided to move to the city of Detroit and recycle used clothes from Salvation Army.

Mom was NOT pleased
With no design experience at all she started taking apart clothing and sewing it back together.

She sells what she makes each week on Sunday via a drop on her website at http://dosjefesgarments.com
Her designs have grown a little following and usually sell out within the 1st hour to people from all over the world.

She makes about $15k a week.

She just bought a few rental properties cash in the city of Detroit

She is a badass and making her own way through the world
She is much happier now than anytime I can remember.

Hopefully this is helpful to those who find yourself at the start of this story and wanting to be at the end.

She donates 10% of the sales each week to a nonprofit in Detroit. She’s a role model and a badass
Her name is Samantha Pohlen and her Instagram is dos_jefes

She does this project with her boyfriend PJ

Side note. When Detroit has its renaissance over the next 30 years she’ll be the one holding all the paid in full apartments
