After the late goals yesterday I wanted to see when Carlisle create/concede chances.

Carlisle are creating their best quality chances in the last 15 minutes of games.

They are also conceding their best quality chances in the last 15 minutes of games.

http://soccerstats.com  shows that Carlisle are scoring the majority of their goals in the first half of matches and interestingly only 3 have been in the last 15 mins.

Thanks to @analysis_bwfc for sharing this.

Carlisle are clearly dominating games on chances created but they are scoring a lot less goals than you'd expect at the end of matches - they are creating good chances but not converting them.

Also they are conceding a lot of chances and goals at the end of matches.
Why is this?

One theory I have is that Carlisle's intense press is causing fatigue by the end of games.

Last month Wyscout said Carlisle have the best PPDA figure in the league (which means the most intense press).
By the end of games after all this intense pressing, are Carlisle tired which means gaps are appearing and being exploited?

It is interesting though that they are creating good chances at the end of games too.
Is this because they have typically been leading games at the end and the opposition are taking risks looking for equalisers?

Carlisle are breaking and getting into good situations and high quality chances are being created?
At the start of the season I thought the high press would maybe take its toll and performances start to drop off after months.

Maybe this is happening over the course of games instead and maybe more substitutions could be made to replace tired players?
Either way, this is not a criticism.

Carlisle have been consistently creating better chances then their opposition pretty much all season long.
