I think some journalists and analysts desperately want their trust fantasy to be true because it deflects on to the populace a shift we need after decades of [journalists and analysts feeding what they call] culture wars over history, climate, basic facts eg masks in a pandemic.

turns out wreckers like Abbott politicising absolutely everything from invasion to climate catastrophe is tories being tories, the sore winners they are; and feeding destructive neocon desires with conflict journalism and bothsides bullshit is working very very badly.

pundits may extrapolate from these numbers that he is not below election winning levels. But a poll only shows what it shows on its own terms, in this case that respondents rate Scott Morrison well below the Premiers.
