I understand the desire to not want to publicly criticize another creator’s work but y’all... #WW84 is a $200M movie made by a massive media conglomerate & v v v rich white ppl. it’s like small business owners not wanting to criticize Amazon bcuz they “get it.”
no one’s punching down a small indie film from a new filmmaker. there are valid critiques. this is a cultural export w/ international influence so yea, I think it’s ok to publicly scrutinize what the film is saying (intentionally or not) & who it’s really for.
& not for nothing but most of the ppl I’ve seen upset about the public debate over the film are white.
