Interesting character parallels and tidbits between xiao & venti 👹🍃
Both are anemo users that value freedom of choice but they are on the opposite ends. Venti is free and do as he pleases, absent from Mondstadt for years. Xiao chose to protect Liyue for centuries as per the contract he signed himself, yet this very contract ended up chaining him.
An angel and devil motif despite being the farthest thing from that. Xiao is always associated with black as Venti is associated with white
Same colored flowers that represents their characters:
Qingxin - "to gaze out afar from the solitary mountaintops" represents how xiao is watches over liyue from afar
Cecilia - "just as intangible as the true heart of an unbound soul" represents Venti's nature as a whole
Xiao is unable to go near crowds, he's afraid that there would be bloodshed when he is near. Venti likes to be the center of attention, bringing smiles and playing songs for all the people to hear
Ganyu pointing out that they are both alone and the last remaining one in their group [venti's the last original archon and xiao's the last remaining yaksha]
Interesting enough that they both:
- have wings [xiao is called the Golden-Winged king, Venti's Barbatos form]
- have tattoos [Xiao on his arm; Venti on his chest and left thigh]
- don't use their original/other names [Alatus ; Barbatos]
Alatus feared by immortals and mortals alike, neither worshipped or praised; Barbatos born out of the people’s faith who’s devotees have unwavering love;
Xiao's life is built of orders, since he was enslaved + when he was set free he chose to serve Morax and fought to protect Liyue with him. Venti despises giving orders, he feels guilty about sending Dvalin to fight Durin and eventually wanted Dvalin to be free of duty in the end
Xiao isn't fond of mortals, he doesnt understand them well claiming that because he's immortal he cant possibly understand their feelings; Venti loves mortals, the nameless bard is the proof how much he loves them. He even tries to blend in by giving himself a fake vision
**interesting enough they both have an "ode" to a subjext, Venti "Wind's Grand Ode" [ult] and "Ode to Thousand Winds" [const] while Xiao has "Ode to Windborne Wraith" [passive that is now part of his story] implies that they both write poems/lyrics
