Two arguments you often hear from those who argue against the formation of the PTPA are “we need to be United” and “this is not the time for it”.

1. There can never be any unity so as the ATP Players Council is infected by equal representation for tournament owners...
Both the ATP & the Players Council are not entities that serve the interests of players. Both of these bodies serve predominantly the interests of the tournament owners. The players are allowed seat at the table as a way to control their demands.
2. There’s no better time than the present. If not now then when? If we are being honest with ourselves we will recognize the ATP has no intention of enacting any sweeping reforms aimed at improving the compensation to lower ranked players...
...the ATP could make the PTPA disappear today by announcing a slate policies targeted at issues that led to the formation of the PTPA. Of course no such course correction is coming from the ATP. If anything the ATP & the Players Council have doubled down in the regressive...
...policies that players are dissatisfied with.
