if you helped spread misinformation about @socialistdogmom based on that taken-out-of-context Tree of Life tweet, it's incumbent on you to delete those tweets now and offer an apology for any misunderstanding. Some of you are still going and that's unacceptable
and many people still have their threads up with no follow up, and seem completely unwilling to reflect on their error, or worse, are trying to retroactively justify it by pointing to the response it caused
it doesn't matter "who started it," what matters is when you discover something is a smear and there is no validity to it, you stop spreading it and help counter by following up, so that less harm is done to the victim of that smear going forward
