One thing we should attempt to reconcile is a desire for a player doesn’t result in the team caring.

In 2018, a whole, whole lot of you wanted someone other than Luka. Receipts exist, so let’s not play that game. Mavs made a power move for Luka and here we are. Same with jumping ahead for KP in a move that came out of no where.
Mavs have made a lot of mistakes over the years too: dirk insisting the Mavs trade for Rondo, letting Tyson walk twice, etc. They’ve connected big too: Antoine Walker for Terry, Jamison for Stackhouse and the pick for Devin Harris
Right now, I am 99% certain the team plans to emphasize rotating in and out 6’5 to 6’10 guys who can play across the board: ball handling, shooting, rebounding. They have a plan.

I struggle with this too. From the moment I saw Luka in camp I thought this might be a start to the season like the Nuggets had last year, where they just didn’t look right.

I wouldn’t be shocked if they made a move for someone at some point. The 2021 free agency class is not the Bill of goods we were sold (is it ever?). So maybe they DO trade for a big man. Won’t be the one everyone rambles about and watches box scores of
