1/ Here's a comparison between US (+CA/FL) & Sweden Excess Mortality (EM) in 2020. I will provide % change over 2019 and % change over average of last 5 years as X%(Y%). Also note that data is not normalized to population growth.

Most critically, you should be able to reproduce
2/ this data in about an hour in Excel. The original data that I have used is from https://data.cdc.gov  and https://www.scb.se/en/ . Lastly, I have done the calculations on Jan-Nov as Dec data is still being finalized.
I will provide links to the original data sources.

EM in Sweden (Jan-Nov) is 8.9%(5.5%)
4/ Breaking the Jan-Nov timeline into three segments: i) Jan & Feb, ii) Mar, Apr & May, and iii) Jun-Nov

EM in US Jan-Feb is 1.8%(1.0%)
EM in US Mar, Apr & May is 19.5%(22.9%)
EM in US Jun-Nov is 14.4%(18.1%)
5/
EM in Sweden Jan-Feb is 0.1%(-5.7%)
EM in Sweden Mar, Apr & May is 26.3%(20.1%)
EM in Sweden Jun-Nov is 3.0%(1.9%)

7/ To get the CDC data, go to: https://data.cdc.gov/browse?q=Weekly%20Counts%20of%20Deaths%20by%20State%20and%20Select%20Causes&sortBy=relevance
and download both the 2014-2018 and 2019-2020 datasets and then you will need to merge (simple copy/paste) to create one set
9/ US raw data and summary tables can be found here (you can comment in the spreadsheet):

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YxYFXIm90Zn0m8lC-Q-ieILIW47PmCgb/view?usp=sharing

Go to row 19607 on tab "Weekly Counts" to see summaries and verify the calculation. Go to tab "Jan-Nov Summary" to see summarized data.
10/ Sweden raw data and summary tables can be found here (you can comment in the spreadsheet)

Go to row 377 in Tab "Tabell 1" to see the summary and calculations.
11/ It will be great if some of you can take an hour to reproduce these tables from scratch. If I find a material error in any of this, I will take down the data.
