I don't normally like anecdotes, but given objective facts no longer seem to matter, I will share one of my own.
I have 4 doctors in my extended family (cousins/aunt/uncle). 3 of them are completely against lockdowns. 2 work in different hospitals, 1 GP.

I asked their opinion on testing. They think it is ridiculous to count a positive test as a "diagnosed case". "That's simply not how you diagnose someone." I was told in the one hospital, the non Covid ward was as busy as normal now, Covid side much less...

busy. Many patients being swabbed on the non Covid side, coming back positive even though they don't have Covid symptoms and then sent over, majority elderly too as this is the largest age bracket going into hospitals anyway. Again not how previously you would diagnose people.

Many elderly patients (but not exclusively) saying how lonely life is, asking not to be discharged, as it's so nice to have some social contact, even if it is through full PPE. There has been an increase in seeing mentally unwell admissions, but often as secondary symptoms.

They all obviously agree Covid is very real. Lung issues are a key indicator, and where most damage normally occurs. But at the same time treatments have improved, less ventilator usage has helped as well, overall less fear even though there are a vocal minority on here...

It's also simply untrue to say that NHS services weren't reduced or cut, they witnessed this happening. I asked if this could cause many people to suffer or die as a result, and yes was the quick, short answer. Lockdowns have created a large long term problem.

These aren't "Covid deniers", conspiracy theorists or whatever else. They're concerned doctors who are worried about the excess harms caused by lockdowns and looking at everything through the lens of reducing Covid numbers. It's not what they went to medical school for.
