Quin Snyder's X's and O's are the best in the NBA for me. A sort of bunch formation where Bogi screens for O'Neale then ghosts to the perimeter. A nice way to initiate a simple spread PnR but all the initial action occupies all help defenders. Snyder the best coach for Rudy.
I like this early offense concept. The non stars to one side of the court, KAT/DLo on one side. DLo takes on the guard early and shoots the fadeaway. Difficult for Utah to help on this play as KAT is deep.
The last thing Minnesota needed to take the offense to a next level, was an athletic 1 v 1 scorer (DLo lacks burst, KAT needs his looks schemed mostly). If Edwards can keep making tough shots this is a top 5 offense very soon.
Cracking drive from Jarrett Culver. 71% at the rim so far this year (yes yes small sample size). Spin move gets Bogi off his balance then he uses his strength to create space advantage, bends round Bogdanovic and finishes with the right hand. Really excited for him,
Love this from Anthony Edwards, been hugely surprised by how versatile he's looked as a scorer. Fakes left, blows past O'Neale. He was always going to be able to do this but love the end bit. Just uses his power to destroy Royce O'Neale.
Film study leads to you appreciating the small parts of the game. Love Edwards just telling Reid to move on this play. Motion offense requires constant movement and filling of spaces, Reid/Edwards were congested at the top of the key.
We've seen Edwards flash space creation. The other thing a top tier scorer needs to do is make tough shots. Wolves look as if they're setting up Chicago action (Handoff where receiver receives a ball screen before taking). Edwards just receives the ball, shoots right over Ingles
Amazing cut from Rubio. Best way to optimise post-ups is smart deliberate off ball movement. By cutting into the paint he occupies the defenders assigned to Beasley/Okogie and creates the passing lane.
