Appearances are the bedrock of social dynamics.

You can up your 'perceived' value by improving your physical appearance,

and you can down your 'perceived' value by dressing below your actual value.

A millionaire who wants to remain anonymous should dress like a commoner,

and a commoner who wants to be perceived as a millionaire should dress with extreme splendour and extravagance.

Men who want to enjoy the social game to the max need to adopt the latter.

There are certain opportunities that will pass you by just because your appearance does not fit the bill.

Improving your appearance immediately signals that you're a person who is careful to leave a good first impression.

Neglect signals carelessness and or apathy for the social game.

If you do that you will lose a lot 'perceived' status and lessen your chances of social success.

Less girls, less people who want to speak with you.

It's no wonder socially successful individuals spend a great deal of time and money to look good.

They know this gives them an edge, and you not looking your best is playing handicapped.

You don't have to spend a fortune to look good.

You can improve the quality of your appearance with just about the same budget you use to buy oversized shirts and pants that don't fit.

The money you use to purchase color rioting combinations is the same you will use to purchase complementary outfits.

Once you work on your appearance, you automatically give yourself more chances to grab more opportunities.

You stop playing the game handicapped.

There are countless benefits to dressing and grooming yourself well,

but the only benefit to dressing down is for when you want to conceal your status.

Concealing status is for high status people, if you're not high status there is no benefit in that for you.
